ABB acquires Austrian company B&R

The Zurich-based electrical engineering group ABB acquired the Austrian company B&R (Bernecker + Rainer Industrie-Elektronik), active in machinery and automation industry. The amount of the deal, announced today, is not disclosed.
B&R has made in the year 2015/2016 a turnover of over 600 million dollars (595 million Swiss francs at the current), as ABB stated. The Austrian company employs more than 3,000 people, including one thousand engineers active in research and development.
